This is the year for new experiences and trying new things. Because of that, I have been saying yes more often and being more open to new ideas. So far this has already resorted in me doing my first paraglide and waterfall repelling. Paragliding above the Andes was a great experience and my pilot was really amazing! The repelling I found more challenging than I had imagined and I managed to loose my footing on the rocks a couple of times. My guide made sure I made it to the bottom alive and I felt like I could do anything when I reached the bottom. I have also said “yes” whenever anyone has suggested meeting. This has helped me to meet new people and It’s also nice to spend so much time outside of the house. That being said, there have been many protests around the whole of Colombia which has prevented me from going out occasionally due to the chance of violence from the protestors and the police and also the huge amount of congestion they bring. Many people were banging their frying pans from my apartment from 8am. The protests remained peaceful whilst people marched down the streets. A group of people last week turned violent and the original group of protesters shouted that these people were not part of their protest and that they did not represent what they were fighting for. There were reports that these violent protesters had been sent by the police to create a negative opinion of the youth and their protests against the government.
Este es el año de vivir nuevas experiencias y probar cosas nuevas. Por eso he tendido a decir que si más frecuentemente y a estar abierta a nuevas ideas. Esto me ha llevado a probar volar en parapente y una bajada de cascada. Volar en parapente 
sobre los Andes fue una gran experiencia y mi piloto fue verdaderamente increíble. La bajada de cascada en kyak me pareció más desafiante de lo que había imaginado y perdí el equilibrio sobre las rocas un par de veces. Cuando vi que mi guía llegó al final a salvo, me dio confianza en que yo lo lograría también. También dije que “sí” cuando la gente me invitaba a quedar y hacer planes. Esto me está ayudado a conocer a gente nueva y a pasar más tiempo fuera de la casa. Dicho esto, han habido muchas protestas por toda Colombia que me han impedido salir ocasionalmente por la posibilidad de violencia de los manifestantes y la policía y también la gran congestión que traen. Muchas personas golpeaban sus sartenes desde mi apartamento desde las 8 de la mañana. Las protestas permanecieron pacíficas mientras la gente marchaba por las calles. Pero la semana pasada, un grupo de personas se volvieron agresivos, por tanto el verdadero grupo de manifestantes se desentendieron y negaron alguna asociación con este grupo. Controversial mente, hubo informes de que estos manifestantes violentos habían sido enviados por la policía para crear una opinión negativa de los jóvenes y sus protestas contra el gobierno.
