入境後的隔離結束5天以後我有COVID。所以開始了第2次的隔離！在台灣有COVID的時候我們要用LINE跟醫生說。因為我的中文還不好我很緊張不過沒有問題，也收到了很好的藥。本來我很不舒服但是吃藥的以後一點都不舒服！藥也很便宜。9月26號是我的生日所以過了我的21歲的生日在隔離。。。（但10月我跟朋友們去了KTV慶祝所以沒有太大的問題）。
我好了以後會上課。在我們的大學，老師不說英文，他門說只中文所以我學中文真快。我以前學過別的語言但是沒想到可能學這麼快。
最近我喜歡吃的台灣菜是雞排！我喜歡看足球的時候吃雞排。很好吃也很大，很便宜。我很期待更多的台灣的菜。
After just 5 days after finishing my quarantine for those entering Taiwan, I was unlucky enough to end up with COVID and have to do yet another quarantine! I’m not too sure where I managed to catch it from as we all wear masks all the time and I hadn’t been anywhere particularly crowded. The system for COVID patients is quite different to Taiwan than the UK, so at first it was hard to navigate. I had to contact a designated clinic in my district and arrange a video call. I was somewhat nervous to contact them in Chinese as it was something rather important and was a situation thrown upon me only 5 days into being in the country, but actually I soon found out that it wasn’t something I couldn’t manage – in fact I felt proud that I managed to communicate about such a complicated topic with no issue! Even without insurance it didn’t cost much for an appointment with a doctor and my flatmate was able to go and collect my prescription for me. I was surprised at the amount of medication I was given as in the UK we tend to suck it up, but it made such a big difference to how I felt! I’m really impressed with the healthcare system here.
I am also thoroughly enjoying my Chinese lessons at the university. The teachers speak exclusively in Chinese and thanks to that I feel that my Chinese level has already improved massively in just one month. My teacher is incredible, and our classes involve asking questions to our partners in Chinese and then reporting to the class what the other person said. It’s truly enjoyable and a 3 hour class feels like just 1.
