Hallo an alle Leser,
Deutschland besitzt den Namen für “Das Land der Dichter und Denker”. Heute möchte ich euch davon überzeugen, dass dieser Name durchaus verdient ist. Die Schriftsteller und die Intellektuellen Deutschlands haben unsere Welt, wie wir sie heute kennen, mehr beinflusst als man denkt.
Osterfeuer auf Rügen
Jetzt möchte ich meine und eure Aufmerksamkeit auf das Lenken, wofür mein Herz schlägt: für die Denker und die weitreichenden
Auswirkungen von ihren Gedanken. Unter den Term “Denker” gehören aus meiner Sicht zwei Arten von Menschen: die Philosophen und die Wissenschaftler. Karl Marx und Friedrich Nietzsche gehörten zu den umstrittensten Denkern des 19. Jahrhunderts. Das politische und philosophische Denken von Marx hatte einen enormen Einfluss auf die nachfolgende intellektuelle, wirtschaftliche und politische Geschichte. Zum Beispiel die Entwicklung des Kommunismus. Sein Name wurde als Adjektiv, Substantiv und als Schule der Sozialtheorie (Marxismus) verwendet. Nietzsche wird andereseits oft mit der Philosophie des Nihilismus in Verbindung gebracht. Nihilismus ist die Ablehnung aller religiösen und moralischen Prinzipien in dem Glauben, dass das Leben sinnlos ist. Zusammengesfasst lässt sich ableiten, dass das soziale und politische Handeln heutzutage auch durch die Dicher und Denker der letzen Jahrhunderte beeinflusst wurde.
Die Denker Deutschlands haben aber auch unser Welt physikalisch beeinflusst. Aufgrund ihrer Erfindungen und wissenschaftlichen Durchbrüche können wir in der forgeschrittenen Gesellschaft leben, die wir heute haben. Ich beginne mit einem Physiker, den jeder kennen sollte. Der Physiker, auf den ich mich beziehe ist natürlich Albert Einstein. Ihn als Genie zu bezeichnen wird ihm nicht gerecht. Seine Arbeit zu den Themen wie Quantentheorie, Brownsche Bewegung, Spezielle Relativitätstheorie und Allgemeine Relativitätstheorie haben unser Verständis der Physik und des Universums für immer verändert. Die Folgen seiner theoretischen Arbeit haben auch den Weg für wichtige Erfindungen wie Satellitennavigationssysteme (Navi), supergenaue Uhren für Geräte wie Handys und sogar Lasers geebnet. In Bezug auf weltverändernde Erfindungen bin ich dazu gezwungen Karl Benz zu erwähnen. Einige von euch mögen auch Autofans sein. Wenn dem so ist, dann habt ihr das Karl Benz zu verdanken. Sein Benz Patent-Motorwagen von 1885 gilt als erstes praxistaugliches Automobil der Moderne und auch als erstes Serienautomobil. Er war der Gründer des Automobilunternehmens Daimler-Benz, das wir heute als Mercedes-Benz kennen. Genau wie bei den Dichtern geht hier die Liste für die Denker ebenso endlos weiter: Konrad Zuse (hat den ersten programmierbarer Computer entwickelt), Johannes Kepler (Planeten Bewegungen), Werner Heisenberg (Quantenmechanik), Carl Bosch und noch viele mehr.
Letzten Monat durfte ich auch die wünderschöne Insel Rügen besuchen. Diese Insel hat durch ihre Kreidefelsen, brechenden Wellen und unberührte Natur viele deutsche Schriftseller und Denker sowie Arnold Ruge und Ernst Moritz Arndt inspiriert. Alle Bilder in diesem Bericht habe ich auf der Insel aufgenommen.
Ich hoffe, dass ich euch durch das Lesen meines Berichtes davon überzeugen konnte, dass Deutschland seinen Namen als “Das Land der Dichter und Denker” mehr als verdient hat.

Germany holds the name for ” the country of poets and thinkers”. Today I would like to convince you that this name is well deserved. The writers and intellectuals of Germany have influenced our world as we know it today more than you might think.
As a Physics student I am naturally more interested in the thinkers (or more specifically the scientists ) than the poets. But that doesn’t mean, that I can’t take the time to introduce some of germanys most important poets. The first candidate is Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He is regarded as one of the most significant creators of German poertry. Among his most famous works are plays such as “Faust I” and “Faust II”, as well as the poem “Prometheus”. His work has a profound and far-reaching influence on Western literary, political and philosophical thought from the end of the 18th century until today. Bertholt Brecht is also considered a highly influential German writer of the modern German era. His most famous plays include “The Threepenny Opera” and “Mother Courage and Her Children”. After only one year (1928), the play “The Threepenny Opera” was known worldwide due to its performances in Paris, Moscow, Prague, Warsaw and even the USA. Of course, there are many more interesting writers, such as Friedrich Schiller, Thomas Mann, Herman Hesse or Heinrich Heine.

Now I would like to direct my and your attention to that, what my heart beats for: for the thinkers and the far-reaching effects of their thoughts. Under the term “thinkers” belong, in my view, two types of people: the philosophers and the scientists. Karl Marx and Friedrich Nietzsche were among the most controversial thinkers of the 19th century. Marx’s political and philosophical thoughts had an enormous impact on subsequent intellectual, economic and political history. For example, the development of communism. His name has been used as an adjective, a noun, and a school of social theory (Marxism). Nietzsche, on the other hand, is often associated with the philosophy of nihilism. Nihilism is the rejection of all religious and moral principles in the belief that life is meaningless. In summary, it can be deduced that the social and political actions of today have also been influenced by the poets and thinkers of the last centuries.
The thinkers of Germany have also influenced our world physically. Through their inventions and scientific breakthroughs, we can live in the advanced society we have today. I will start with a physicist that everyone should know. The physicist I am referring to is, of course, the amazing Albert Einstein. To call him a genius does not do him justice. His work on topics such as quantum theory, Brownian motion, special relativity, and general relativity have forever changed our understanding of physics and the universe. The consequences of his theoretical work have also paved the way for important inventions such as satellite navigation systems (Satnav), super-accurate clocks for devices such as cell phones, and even lasers. On the subject of world-changing inventions, I am compelled to mention Karl Benz. Some of you may also be car enthusiasts. If so, you have Karl Benz to thank. His Benz Patent Motor Car of 1885 is considered the first practical automobile of the modern era and the first mass-produced automobile. He was the founder of the Daimler-Benz automobile company, which we know today as Mercedes-Benz. Just as with the poets, the list for the thinkers goes on just as endlessly for the thinkers: Konrad Zuse (developed the first programmable computer), Johannes Kepler ( planetary motions), Werner Heisenberg (quantum mechanics), Carl Bosch, and many more.
Last month I was also able to visit the beautiful island of Rügen. This island has inspired many German writers and thinkers such as Arnold Ruge and Ernst Moritz Arndt with its chalk cliffs, crashing waves and undisturbed nature. All pictures in this report were taken on the island.
I hope that by reading my report I could convince you that Germany more than deserves its name as “The country of poets and thinkers”.
