بَعدَ شَهْرين في عمّان أِنَّ الوَجدُ أَماكِني المُفَضَلة. بَينَما الجبلُ القلعةُ والمَسرَحُ الروماني مُوَثِرانِ جِداً, أُحِبُ أَكثَر الأماكِن الّتي ساعَدتني فيها الشُّعور راحة في هاذه المَدينة. جواري, جبل الحسين, يَقَعَ في شَمالُ احياءَ الشَّهيرةِ اللوَيبدةِ و البَلَدِ. جَبَلُها أَعَلى من هذينِ أَحيينِ. لِذَلك المَنظَرُ كَبيرٌ. كُلَ اليَوم البَسيطَ الأَشياءَ أنهم يَشغلونَ يومي. إذهب إلى جيمً أينَ لا أَحَد يَتَحَدَثون الإِنجليزية, أُحِبَهُ لِانَّهُ الجيمُ النِّساءُ الوَحيدُ و يُمكِنُني التَّدرُبُ العربية مِنهُم. في الأردن انتُم تتدخينونَ داخِلٌ, يُعطينا صورة مُسلُ النِّساءَ التَّدخين في الجيم و الشٌّرب قهوة بدلاً مِن للتَّمَرين. اُحِب هذا بِسَبَب الأوقات الوحيدة النِّساءَ يُمكِن مرتاحينَ في بِناية بلا رِجالٌ
بَعدَ امتِحاني العَرَبيةِ أنا أَسافَرتُ حَوالي الأُردُن. زارتُ ٱلْبَتْرَاء, وادي رم, اَلْبَحْرُ الْمَيْتُ, قلعة الكرك, والعقبة مَع صَديقي. المَكان الأَوَّل كان اَلْبَحْرُ الْمَيْتُ, مشينا وادي الاحساء. ربماً وَديانُ الاردٌنِ الأحسَن السِرُ. نَحنُ لا نُفَكِرً الاردُن بَلَدٌ مع ماءِ كَثيرٌ بِسَبَب المُشكِلاتِ نَدرَةُ المياهِ والصَّحراء. الاردٌنِ لَديها في الَقيقةِ كَثيرٌ وَديانُ التي مُمتَلئِ ماء. هُنَّ فتح فَقَط طِوال الصَّيف الانَّ في الشِّتاء الماءَ عالً. الماءَ يُعِدَ أَنماطٌ في الصُخورِ و ثم الماء يَذهَبٌ في البَحرِالمَيتِ. وادي الحسا مُهِمً كَثيرٌ الانَّ بَقاياً أَثَريةً أَربَعَة وعَشْرون ألِف مُندُ سَنة و هو مرتين في الكِتابِ المُقَدَسِ حيث سافَروا سَبط بَنو اِسراِئيلِ اِلى موآبِ. هُناكَ كَذلِك الأضرِحة إلى الإِله دوشَرَ ٱلْأَنْبَاط. اليوم الودِ يَعمل إلى الماء المزارع القريب و سَدُ التَّنورِ . شَعرتُ تاتُرى كثير المَشي طِوال وادِ مع التَّاريخِ الكَثيرِ.
ثم نَحنُ سافَرنا إلى الكرك, الشَّارع جَميلَةِ هو في الجِبالِ. نَحنُ زَرنا قلعة الكرك, قَلعةٌ صَليبيةٌ, ماكنٌ فيهِ كثيرٌ المَعارِكُ. ثم أكَلُنا ساندوتش فلافل في عادل حلبي, مع الوديةِ الرَجُلِ في الأردن. بَقِيّة العُطلةِ كان مَذهَلٍ و ان شاء الله هذا يُشَجِّع الناسُ زَاَرَ اخر أماكن في الاردنِ.
After spending two months in Amman I have definitely found my favourite places. Whilst the citadel and the Roman theatre are very impressive, I like the spots that have helped me to feel comfortable in this city. My neighbourhood, Jabal al-Hussein, is located north of the famous neighbourhoods al-Weibdeh and Downtown. Its hill is higher than these two neighbourhoods, so the view is great. It is the simple everyday things that fill up my day. I go to a gym where no one speaks English, and I love it because it is a women’s only gym and I can practise my Arabic with them. In Jordan you can smoke inside, giving us the entertaining image of women smoking in the gym and drinking coffee instead of exercising. I love this because it is one of the only times that women can be relaxed in a building without men.
After my Arabic exam I travelled around Jordan. I visited Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Kerak Castle and Aqaba with my friend. The first stop was the Dead Sea, we walked Wadi al-Hasa. The wadi’s (valleys) of Jordan are probably its best kept secret. We don’t think of Jordan as a country with lots of water, because of the water scarcity problems and the desert. Jordan actually has a lot of valleys full of water. They are open only in summer, because in winter the water is too high. The water makes patterns in the rocks and goes into the Dead Sea. Wadi al-Hasa is very important because there are archeological remains from twenty four thousand years ago, and it is in the Bible twice where the Israelites travelled to Moab. There are also shrines to the Nabatean god Dushara. Today the valley works to water nearby farms and the Al-Tannur Dam. I felt amazed to walk through a valley with so much history. Then we drove to Al-Karak, the road is beautiful and is in the mountains. We visited Kerak Castle, a crusader castle, where many battles happened. Then we ate a falafel sandwich in Adel Halabi, with the friendliest man in Jordan. The rest of the trip was amazing, and I hope this encourages people to visit other places in Jordan.
