Fußball muss bezahlbar sein! Proteste in Hamburg
Nachdem ich fast 7 Monate in Hamburg gelebt habe, besuchte ich mein erstes Fußballspiel hier, und es war großartig! Es war das Spiel von Hamburgs größter Mannschaft, dem HSV, gegen einen ihrer Rivalen, Hannover 96. Das Stadion ist riesig, mit 57.000 Plätzen, und die Atmosphäre war unglaublich. Hamburg hat auch 6:1 gewonnen, also war es ein großartiges Erlebnis! Aber es gab noch etwas anderes, das ich sehr interessant fand.
Der HSV spielt derzeit in der zweiten Bundesliga, aber die Eintrittspreise sind teurer als bei fast allen Bundesliga Mannschaften. Fußball ist nicht nur in Hamburg, sondern in ganz Deutschland ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Kultur, und die Fans protestieren gegen die Eintrittspreise. Die behaupten, dass die derzeitigen Eintrittspreise den Sport unerreichbar machen, vor allem für junge Menschen und Familien. Auslöser der Proteste war der Verkauf von Eintrittskarten für das Spiel gegen St. Pauli, Hamburgs anderen Fußballverein und größten Rivalen des HSV. Das teuerste Ticket kostet 104 € und liegt damit deutlich über dem Preis anderer Vereine.
Die Hamburger Fans trugen riesigen Spruchbändern wie “Fußball muss bezahlbar sein”, “Ticketpreise senken” und “Willkommen im teuersten Zweitliga-Zirkus der Welt!”. Die Fans von Hannover 96 schlossen sich dem Protest an und hingen im Gästeblock einen Banner mit der Aufschrift, ,Für diese Ticketpreise kann man ein Feuerwerk erwarten‘ auf – und zündeten ein Feuerwerk, um zu zeigen, dass sie es ernst meinten!
Der Fanclub fordert den Verein auf, nicht nur die Ticketpreise, sondern die gesamte Preisstruktur zu ändern. Ich bin also gespannt, wie der Verein reagiert. Wer sagt denn, dass sich Politik und Fußball nicht vertragen?
Football must be affordable! Protests in Hamburg
After living in Hamburg for nearly 7 months, I went to my first football match here and it was a big one! It was Hamburg’s biggest team, HSV, against one of their rivals, Hannover 96. The stadium is huge, with 57,000 seats, and the atmosphere was incredible. Hamburg also won 6-1, so it was a brilliant experience! However, there was something else going on which I thought was really interesting.
HSV is currently in the second league in Germany (the equivalent of the Championship), but ticket prices are more expensive than nearly all Bundesliga clubs. Football is a huge part of not only Hamburg’s, but all of Germany’s culture, and fans are protesting that the current ticket prices are making the sport inaccessible, particularly for young people and families who can no longer afford to go to matches regularly. The protests were triggered by tickets for a match against St. Pauli, Hamburg’s other football and HSV’s biggest rival, going on sale. The most expensive ticket is €104, which is well above any other clubs.
Hamburg fans displayed huge banners with slogans such as ‘Football must be affordable’, ‘Lower the prices’ and ‘Welcome to the most expensive second league circus in the world!’. Hannover 96 supporters joined the protest and hung a banner in the visitors’ stand saying ‘For these ticket prices, you can expect fireworks’ – and set off fireworks to show they meant it!
The fan club is urging the club to not only change the ticket prices but the whole pricing structure, so it will be very interesting to see how they respond. Who says politics and football don’t mix!
