هذا التقرير فيه جزءين. الجزء الأول سأتكلم خاصة عن رحلتي الى شمال الأردن و الجزء الثاني سيكون عن كيف حلقت شعري بعد تركه منذ ثلاث سنوات.—كنت أعيش في الأردن منذ ستة أسابيع تقريباً. بقيت ثمانية أسابيع حتى ينتهي وقتي في الأردن. الأسبوع الماضي كان اوّل مرة ذهبت خارج عمان. زرت ام قيس في شمال الأردن مع صديقي نيكولا. كما انّ هذا كان اوّل مرة ركبت الباص في الأردن كانت تجربة ثقافية جيدة. ذهبنا أولاً انا و نيكولا من وسط عمان (حيث نعيش) الى شمال عمان على تكسي. من هنا تكلمنا مع الأشخاص في مجمع الشمال للبحث عن احسن طريقة للسفر الى ام قيس. كان هذا اختبارًا كبيرًا لتقدمي في اللغة العربية. أولاً ، كان علينا السفر إلى إربد -وهي ثانية مدن الكبرى في الأردن. ومن هناك استقلنا حافلتين ووصلنا إلى أم قيس. سافرنا مع أردنيين من المنطقة وكنا السياح الوحيدين في المنطقة.
أم قيس مدينة جميلة بها الكثير من التاريخ والجمال الخلاب. كانت أنقاض غدارا القديمة جميلة. كان مركزًا للثقافة اليونانية. أقدم البنيات من القرن الثالث قبل الميلاد. من أعلى التل بجانب الآثار يمكنك رؤية سوريا في المسافة وكذلك بحيرة طبريا. رأينا أيضًا قطة جميلة بعيون مختلفة الألوان. شربنا القهوة العربية واكلنا الخبز الطازج أثناء تجولنا في المنطقة التاريخية. كانت الرحلة صعبة ولكنها ممتعة كثير. كانت فرصة جيدة لممارسة لغتي العربية و سعدنا كثير انّنا وصلنا إلى بيتنا دون أي مشاكل.
حدث آخر مثير للاهتمام من هذا الشهر كان قصة شعري. كانت هذه المرة الأولى التي أقص فيها شعري في الأردن وأيضًا المرة الأولى التي أقصه منذ ثلاث سنوات. كنت متوتر ولكن الحلاق كان صبورًا جدًا مع أسئلتي ولغتي العربية الضعيفة وقام بعمل رائع. الآن شعري قصير جدًا ويبدو رائعًا..
This report will have two parts. I will speak mostly about my trip to the north of Jordan. The second part will talk about how I cut my hair after leaving it for three years.
I have been living in Jordan for six weeks approximately. There are 8 weeks left till my time ends in Jordan. Last week I went on my first trip outside of Amman I visited Umm Qais, in the North of Jordan with my friend Nicolo`. This was my first time using a bus in Jordan and it was a great cultural experience. First, me and Nicolo` took a taxi from the centre of Amman where we live to the north of Amman. From here we spoke with the people in the North Station to find the best way to travel to Umm Qais. This was a great test of my Arabic progress. First, we had to travel to Irbid – the second-biggest city in Jordan. From there we took two buses and arrived in Umm Qais. We travelled with local Jordanians and were the only tourists in the area.
Umm Qais is a place with a lot of history and scenic beauty. The ruins of ancient Gadara were beautiful. It was a centre of Greek culture. The oldest structures/buildings are from the 3rd century BC. From the top of the hill next to the ruins you can see Syria in the distance and also the Sea of Galilee. We also saw a beautiful cat with eyes that were of different colours. We drank Arabic coffee and ate fresh bread to eat while we walked around the historical area. The journey was challenging but very fun. It was a good opportunity to practice my Arabic and we were pleased to arrive home without any problems.
Another interesting event from this month was my haircut. It was the first time cutting my hair in Jordan and also the first time cutting it in three years. I was nervous but the barber was very patient with my questions and my weak Arabic and did a great job. Now my hair is very short and looks great.
