Les trente derniers jours depuis mon précédent rapport mensuel ont été particulièrement riches en événements et en moments inoubliables partagés avec mes amis à Annecy. Le 21 juin, chaque année, la France célèbre la Fête de la Musique. Lancée par le Ministère de la Culture en 1982, cette manifestation d’une journée est aujourd’hui célébrée sur les cinq continents, rassemblant les gens dans les rues autour des concerts gratuits, joués par des musiciens amateurs et professionnels, issus des divers paysages musicaux. Elle est devenue un succès international, avec plus de 120 pays qui participent désormais aux festivités.

C’était une opportunité fantastique pour moi de découvrir un événement culturel aussi important en France et cela a été l’un des moments signifiants de mon année à l’étrangère. À Annecy, la musique a commencé à partir d’environ 18 heures. Dans toute la ville, des petites rues jusqu’à la grande scène sur la place centrale au bord du lac, il y avait de la musique partout. Les gens dansaient, chantaient et profitaient simplement de l’ambiance. Je n’ai jamais vu la ville aussi animée. C’était un événement inoubliable et j’aimerais voir une telle initiative être adoptée dans mon pays dans le futur.

Cette même semaine a également marqué le début du Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy, un festival d’animation de renommée mondiale qui se tient à Annecy chaque année. La ville est devenue extrêmement animée avec l’arrivée de visiteurs venus du monde entier pour profiter d’une semaine consacrée aux meilleurs films d’animation au monde. Grâce à mon travail, j’ai eu la chance de recevoir des accès à plusieurs événements. C’était une occasion unique, notamment de regarder un film en plein air avec des centaines d’autres spectateurs, entièrement en français. Le festival proposait une grande variété de films d’animation, allant de grands classiques comme Shrek à de nouvelles créations. Les réalisateurs sont souvent montés sur scène pour présenter leurs œuvres. C’est sans aucun doute un événement incontournable pour tous les cinéphiles.

Il ne me reste que dix jours de travail avant de commencer à dire au revoir à mon stage ainsi qu’à la ville qui est devenue mon chez-moi au cours des cinq derniers mois. Cette expérience restera inoubliable et je serai toujours reconnaissante pour tout ce que ce stage m’a apporté.

The last 30 days since my previous monthly report have been incredibly exciting and filled with memorable events and moments shared with my friends in Annecy. On the 21st of June, France celebrates Fête de la Musique every year. Established by the French Minister of Culture in 1982, this one-day event is now celebrated across five continents, bringing people together in the streets through free concerts performed by both amateur and professional musicians from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and styles. It has become an international success, with more than 120 countries now taking part in the celebrations.

This was a fantastic opportunity for me to experience such an important cultural event in France, and it has been one of the highlights of my year abroad. In Annecy, the music began from around 6 p.m., and throughout the city, from the small streets to the main stage in the central square beside the lake, there was live music everywhere. People were dancing, singing, and simply enjoying the atmosphere. I have never seen the city so full of life. It was a truly unforgettable event and something I would love to see my home country adopt in the future.

The same week also marked the start of the week-long Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a world-renowned animation festival held in Annecy every year. The city became incredibly busy as visitors from all over the world arrived to enjoy a week showcasing some of the best animation in the world. Through my work, I was lucky enough to receive passes to several festival events. It was a really special experience, especially sitting outdoors with hundreds of other people watching a film in French. The festival screened a wide variety of animated films, from classics such as Shrek to brand-new productions, with many of the directors taking to the stage to introduce and discuss their work. It is definitely a must-visit event for anyone with a love of cinema.

I now have only ten working days left before I begin preparing to say goodbye to both my placement and the city that has been my home for the past five months. It has been an unforgettable experience, and I will always be grateful for everything this placement has given me.
