My Fifth Month in Rio de Janeiro! Ben Kittoe – May 2026

Bom dia, pessoal! Como estamos? Tô de volta escrevendo mais um relatório depois do meu quinto mês aqui no Brasil! Que loucura, né!
Neste mês, o clima brasileiro tá transitando do verão pro outono, e logo chega o inverno! Então tem mais chuva, e tá mais “frio” (18 graus, que pra um inglês é tropical!). Porém, o Brasil ainda tá muito lindo e tô gostando muito do meu tempo aqui.
Neste mês, eu decidi começar a ir à academia depois do trabalho, e tô gostando muito! Parece uma coisa tediosa, mas na verdade é muito interessante ver uma cultura de exercício completamente diferente! Aqui no Brasil, a academia não é só pra “um tipo específico de pessoa”, mas realmente é pra todo mundo! Tem uma valorização maior da saúde aqui, então esporte, remédios e tomar banho são coisas muito importantes! De fato, descobri neste mês que o Brasil é o país que toma mais banhos no mundo!
Um dia especial neste mês foi o Dia das Mães! Claro que minha mãe não tá aqui no Brasil comigo, e lá na Inglaterra temos uma data diferente, mas eu ainda gostei de celebrar com a família da minha namorada, com quem tô morando aqui! Como na maioria das celebrações aqui no Brasil, a parte mais importante foi a comida, então fizemos um almoço grande em casa e recebemos alguns amigos e a família extensa. Percebi que o Dia das Mães parece mais importante aqui do que na Inglaterra. Por exemplo, durante o dia inteiro, vi muitos programas na televisão sobre as mães, mostrando apreciação e carinho. Achei lindo!
Finalmente, tô gostando muito do meu trabalho na gravadora, e neste mês eu fui pro meu segundo show do trabalho! Foi num clube no Rio, onde um dos nossos artistas tava tocando. Passei a noite inteira no camarim dele com o meu time! Foi muito legal, e uma experiência muito especial!

Hello guys! How are we? I’m back writing yet another report after my fifth month here in Brazil! Isn’t that crazy!
This month, the Brazilian weather has been changing from summer to autumn, and soon to winter! So there’s more rain, and it’s “colder” (18 degrees, which for an Englishman is tropical!). However, Brazil is still very beautiful and and I’m really enjoying my time here.
This month, I decided to start going to the gym ofter work, and I’m really enjoying it! It seems like a boring thing, but it’s actually very interesting to see a completely different exercise culture! Here in Brazil, the gym is not just for a “specific type of person”, but genuinely is for everyone! There’s a bigger appreciation of health here, so sport, medicine and showering are really important! In fact, I discovered this month that Brazil is the country that showers the most!
A special day this month was Monther’s Day! Of course my Mum is not here in Brazil with me, and in England we have a different date, but I still enjoyed celebrating with my girlfriend’s family with whom I am living. As is the case with most celebrations here in Brazil, the most important part was the food, so we made a big lunch at home and hosted some friends and the extended family. I noticed that Monther’s Day seems more important here than it is in England. For example, throughout the entire day, I saw lots of programmes on television about mothers, showing appreciation and care. I found it lovely!
Finally, I’m really enjoying my work at the record label, and this month I went to my second work show! It was in a club in Rio, where one of our artists was playing. I spent the whole night in his dressing room, with my team! It was very cool, and a very special experience!
